Hi! We are Piccola Pianta's shop owner's Steve and Toni! We are High school Sweethearts, bestfriends and business partners. We started making terrariums two years ago after Steve was visiting his family in Boston and saw one he loved in a store. He called me and told me he'd like to make one for his apartment. We kind of put it on the back burner until we were out on one of our weekend adventures in Montauk, NY. We were walking on the beach when we started gathering beautiful shells, rocks and seaglass. We spent the day collecting and looking at our beach treasures. When we got home Steve surprised me with a terrarium making class and from there we knew this was something we could both enjoy doing together.
Our hobby soon became a side job and people were admiring our terrariums and placing custom orders daily. I (Toni) began teaching DIY a Terrarium Workshops at local bars, bookstores, cafés and West Elm!
We love what we do and doing it together makes it all the more special!

Care instructions

Caring for your terrarium is simple.
Cactus/ Succulent Terrariums require very little water. These plants store water in their leaves. Water once every 3-4 weeks at base of plant generously. Allow soil to dry out completely between watering.

Airplants require no soil to grow. Cool, right? They live on nutrients found in moisture and air. They survive best when placed in indirect sunlight. Soak your Airplant once or twice a week for 5-10 minutes in cool water, air-dry and return to glass.

Fern, Ivy and other Woodland plants like moisture. Water generously once a week & spritz in between watering.

Moss likes moisture and shade. Spritz daily.

Kokedama does best in indirect sun to partial shade. Soak weekly for 5 minutes.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Ask about gift wrapping! Our Thank you tags are made on seed paper. Add them to soil and watch them sprout!
